Data Research Manager

We are ch-aviation , a company that specialises in data research. Once we collect and verify the data, we present it in our online database (i.e.: we are the go-to source of finding out who owns which aircraft worldwide). Since we offer access to high-value data, our customers understand the value that high-quality information has, which makes them more inclined to invest in what we offer. We're in a very niche market so we don’t face much competition - there are only a few major players globally who do what we do. This gives us a unique position in the industry.

Data Research Manager is a key role within the ch-aviation Data team, with responsibility for managing and delivering aviation research and product development work.

Location: our Data Research Teams are located in Zagreb and Belgrade, so we think it makes most sense if the Manager is located in one of the European countries with the same (CET) or comparable timezone. As long as you’re willing to regularly travel to Zagreb and Belgrade, you can work remotely from ex. Montenegro, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland etc.

Job description:

• scaling and developing the current team of Data Researchers, providing ongoing (recurring) training, and creating a collaborative and motivated team environment
• managing a team of data researchers and HR processes related to the team
• managing and launching projects, contributing to data collection, data standardization, and normalization
• overseeing the delivery of high-quality research
• managing the full project lifecycle from inception to delivery, working with set timelines and budgets provided
• ensuring that our work delivers accurate data to various aviation industry shareholders
• managing and budgeting data resources
• monitoring the maintenance of data sets
• working effectively with team members
• collaborating with the internal leadership team to align on strategy and research activities
• maintaining a high standard of ethics, prioritizing integrity across the role

• You’re excited to travel regularly to Zagreb/Belgrade to spend time with research teams
• You possess the following skills :
  • Designing, managing, and delivering a range of research projects, including effective and efficient resource allocation.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills that ensure work is effectively prioritized.
  • Ability to develop and utilise appropriate quantitative and qualitative methods and tools to support high-quality research work.
  • Ability to work under own initiative with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven people management skills.

What type of experience are we looking for?

• A proven track record in delivering research projects to meet the product requirements, including time and quality expectations, and within the budget.
• A few years of previous experience in leading and scaling teams is essential.
• A link to the aviation industry would also be a plus, but is not essential.
