Looking for a Senior Java Engineer for a German company specializing in travel risk management solutions. They provide early warning, information, and communication systems to enhance the safety of leisure and business travelers, as well as employees on international assignments. Their legacy system presents onboarding challenges due to outdated tooling and minimal documentation. The aim is to assess the current setup from a fresh, external perspective and then drive rapid improvements.
Requirements
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring
Proven ability to handle large and complex projects
Excellent written and spoken English for clear communication of findings and recommendations
Basic knowledge of PHP (relevant for build pipeline understanding)
Comfortable working in a Linux environment
Proactive, communicative, and capable of working independently
English - at least B2
Responsibilities
Investigate the current legacy application environment
Identify core issues in:
Development environment
Toolsets used
Deployment pipeline
Documentation (existing and missing)
Propose and/or implement effective solutions to modernize and stabilize the system
Communicate findings clearly and regularly to stakeholders
