SQL Database Administrator

What You Will Be Doing?

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems (cloud & on-prem) to ensure optimal performance.
• Perform regular database capacity planning, monitoring, and tuning activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address database-related requirements and challenges.
• Implement and enforce security best practices for databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies related to database management.
• Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for critical database systems.
• Conduct regular testing of backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and system resilience.
• Analyze and optimize database schema, queries, and configurations for improved efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Generate comprehensive reports on database performance, security, and compliance.

What Do You Need for the Position?

We are looking for a talented, dedicated, and analytical Database Administrator , with a minimum Bachelor’s degree in technical engineering or an equivalent combination of formal and informal education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

We expect:

• Strong customer-oriented skills.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL Server and Transact SQL
• In-depth knowledge of database systems, including but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL and cloud-based solutions (e.g. Azure SQL Database)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for database tasks in Microsoft technologies
• Proactive identification and resolution of issues to minimize impact on IT operations
• Advanced knowledge of database integrity, security, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring standards
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving technologies, industry trends, and organizational needs.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills and attention to details
• Keep being informed about the latest database technologies and recommend upgrades as needed
• Active knowledge of English

We considered as plus:

• Familiar with programming languages API
• Experience in IT of an insurance company
• Experience building and maintaining Data Warehousing
• Relevant database certifications (e.g. Cloud, Microsoft, or Oracle)
