Own and scale growth, community, partnerships, and operations for a fast‑growing legal coaching brand. $1,500–$2,000/month | ~20 hrs/week | Flexible remote schedule BE THAT LAWYER helps ambitious attorneys build sustainable books of business through coaching and training, Rainmaker Roundtables, the BE THAT LAWYER Community, podcasts, books, speaking, and practical business development systems. We have strong content, a recognized brand, and multiple growth channels. We are now looking for the person who can turn those assets into more members, more qualified prospects, and ultimately, more revenue. This is not a traditional marketing role. It is a hands-on growth and execution leadership role for someone who can move quickly, manage people and projects, create momentum, and own measurable outcomes. We're looking for a Fractional Head of Growth & Operations. Run and grow the marketing engine that allows Steve Fretzin to focus on the work only he should be doing: creating thought leadership, working with clients, meeting qualified prospects and developing high-value strategic relationships.
In this role, you will: Leverage content and events into qualified leads
Grow and engage an online community — from its current base of 100 toward 200, 300, 500 members and beyond
Manage our marketing team and outside vendors
⚙️ Build and manage a new CRM to automate follow-through
Identify, develop and activate new strategic partnerships (for example, Bar Associations)
Turn Steve's existing content into more leads and measurable business opportunities
Keep the virtual assistant and vendors accountable and clear on ownership

This is a fractional engagement of approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility on schedule and a bias toward getting things done. Reporting:
You'll be working directly with Steve Fretzin, founder of BE THAT LAWYER, and will own the monthly goals and Issues List that protect the team from constant priority changes. Requirements To excel in this role, you need: ✅ Experience growing a founder-led professional services, coaching, consulting, membership, education or personal brand business (legal background a bonus) ✅ Demonstrated success generating leads, growing memberships, building partnerships or creating measurable pipeline ✅ Strong project and people management skills, including experience managing contractors, virtual assistants or vendors ✅ Comfort with email marketing, LinkedIn, podcasts, webinars, CRM systems, content repurposing, SEO or AEO and basic marketing analytics ✅ An entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action, experimentation and results ✅ A "doer first, strategist second" approach — able to take an idea, build a practical plan, assign the work and follow through ✅ Comfort working independently, juggling multiple priorities and changing direction when the data says something isn't working Brownie points for: ⭐ Prior experience in the legal or professional-services space ⭐ A track record of scaling an online community or membership program ⭐ Experience negotiating and activating association or institutional partnerships The strongest candidate will be confident, persuasive, adaptable, and results-oriented. You should be comfortable moving quickly, handling several projects at once, questioning the status quo, making decisions, and working independently. You need enough structure to run systems and track results without allowing perfection or process to slow down execution.
